Welcome to the website of the Contemporary Art Group, Incorporated, a not-for-profit organization of active artists in North Central New Jersey. We meet monthly at the Watchung Arts Center for a presentation or demonstration and for the opportunity to exchange ideas. The CAG sponsors exhibits for members throughout the year at a variety of venues, and we are always looking for new exhibition opportunities. Additional social activities are receptions at our shows, meet-and-greets and an annual holiday dinner. We define our own name, “contemporary,” to include all those currently producing fine art. At present, our members come from Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, and Union Counties. Styles of our artwork run from abstraction to representation in the following media: acrylic, ceramics, charcoal, clay, collage, colored pencil, Conté crayon, encaustic, glass, ink, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, printmaking, stone, and watercolor.
